This picture shows the group who gathered at the Orchard on the very hot morning of
21 April to weed the tree sites and spread wood chip. There was a lot to do but with ten of us working for over 3 hours, getting hotter and hotter, we managed to finish the job.....much rewarded with coffee and apple cake.
The tree shown in blossom is Buerre Hardy, a delicious pear, truly a gourmet fruit. Lets hope the blossoms become a plentiful crop in due course.
